Ident Process

After all my research for my tv ident, I began to start designing. Firstly i opened up illustrator and designed my logo.

I then opened up After Effects and made a new composition.

I then went to Layer> new>solid to create my circles for my ident. I chose my colours and pressed okay.

I used the eclipse tool to then turn the box into a perfect circle.

i repeated this process over and over making the circles different sizes and colours. I wanted the circles to move simultaneously so to do this I had to input an expression. An example of this expression was “wiggle(0.5,20)”. That expressions judges how many times per second (0.5) the shape is scaled to a random number between 1 & 20.

I carried out the same process on creating circles in different colours and sizes.

I used a background picture of worn paper

After i made all the circles I wanted for my ident I then placed them all in the order I wanted them. I used the multiply button so they would turn slightly transparent.

I added music to my ident then used the tones and sounds from the track to sync with the movement of the circles.

I used a camera on my ident and made it 3D, I used the XY&Z axis to position the circles in a 3d form.

I added zooms and changed position of the camera so the ident took full effect.

To finish off my final ident i put a rotation on the logo so it spins around.
